RECIPROCAL IVF (Partner Egg Reception)

To initiate a cycle of IVF, certain screening tests need to be performed on the patient and her partner.

Reciprocal IVF (partner egg reception) allows a lesbian couple, who wish to become mothers, to choose "shared motherhood": one of them performs the ovarian stimulation and provides the eggs, which are fertilized with sperm from a sperm bank or from a known donor. The embryos are transferred to the uterus of the other woman, who will carry the pregnancy and give birth.

This way, they are both actively involved in bringing their child into the world, being both their biological mothers: one as the genetic mother and the other one as the gestational mother.

SUCCESS RATE

The success rate of Reciprocal IV F is the same as conventional IVF and depends, mainly, on the age of the woman who provides the eggs.
